Today we are asking members of INSERT YOUR PARISH NAME HERE to bring forward the names of men and women whom you feel God may be calling to full-time church work. The nomination form in today s bulletin outlines the qualities you look for in a potential church worker. In that past two years Lutheran Church!Canada s recruitment initiative has gathered more than 160 names, including INSERT NAMES SUBMITTED FROM YOUR PARISH from this congregation. Each person was interviewed and he or she received encouragement from the pastor and LCC s university and seminaries. God calls workers from among His people. As a young man, our pastor was nurtured and encouraged in his home congregation. Today is your opportunity to ensure that when parishes need pastors or deacons, there is someone ready to accept the call. Currently there are approximately 40 LCC parishes without pastors. Ask God whom you can encourage to consider serving Him in full-time church work, fill in the nomination form, place it in the offering plate, and remember those people in your prayers as they consider God s plan for their lives.
